About Us

After years of writing episodic television and independent film, Daniel Benton formed Thriller Entertainment in 2003 to produce his own horror and suspense thriller films.  The company's namesake is "Thriller," the Universal horror anthology TV series from the early 60s starring Boris Karloff as host.  According to Horror master Stephen King, Thriller was "...probably the best horror series ever put on TV." Daniel's father, Douglas Benton, who produced many hit series from the 60s through the 80s, began his own promising career on "Thriller" and compiled the stories for the series.

Thriller Entertainment films completed to date are NEAR DEATH, released by Trinity and Slaughterhouse Cinema, and THE REVOLTING DEAD, released US/Canada DVD/Video by Maverick Entertainment and foreign by Hollywood Wizard. Thriller is also a partner in the upcoming MY DEMON WITHIN, directed by Michael Su.  And, as a writer, Daniel co-wrote Joe Castro's JACKHAMMER MASSACRE, now in US/DVD release by Lions Gate. In Germany, Daniel's story and TV pilot concept, COLD WARRIORS: THE WALL is being developed by Gruenberg Film in Berlin and Miami Vice's (TV) producer-writer George Geiger. Most recently Daniel wrote the screenplay for SPECIAL OPERATIONS: DELTA FORCE, directed by Cole McKay and starring Bruce Davison.

Thriller's next slate of horror screenplays include AMERICAN ZOMBIE, THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER, and ST. FRANKENSTEIN.  Thriller screenplays include THOSE WHO PREY, a noir crime piece, and SHINING CITY, a political sci-fi caper. These projects are available as screenplay purchases and/or co-development/co-production projects.
